What is The Rubicon?
The Rubicon is a concept.
It is a representation of a point of no return. A place at which, when crossed, inevitably changes the course of events in a manner that cannot be reversed. When applied to the field of technology, it represents the breakthroughs that alter the course of this field as a whole and/or the sub-field in which it focuses on.
The Rubicon is an independent publication.
Future altering technical breakthroughs and iterative updates are happening at a near breakneck speed. Many of these breakthroughs go unnoticed and/or their importance is not recognized. Often the impacts of these developments are not felt for some time, and many fail to see the impact until far after the changes have taken place. Mental models are needed to accurately navigate the emerging and evolving timelines that lie before us. Intelligently hypothesizing the impact of these events on the everyday life, The Rubicon's objective is to help the world see just around the bend and best prepare for the inevitable changes.
The Rubicon is a service.

Who is The Rubicon?
Alexander Debenham Cahíz
"If you were to ask me what I would be busy doing if money were no object, I would tell you it would teaching the world about the potentially transformative impact of exponential technologies. My career has taken me on an amazing journey of roles and companies, but the theme that connects them together is researching, producing and distributing stories related to technology.
My collective experiences and underlying passion lead me to my latest project: The Rubicon. A consultancy helping companies chart a course into the future. Emerging technologies are exciting, especially for geeks like me, but often it is hard to see how they will impact our day to day lives. At The Rubicon, we dive into these topics to build mental models and understand how things like Blockchain, AI, Augmented Reality, Quantum Computing, and Genetic Engineering will impact your life and your career."
